Tamir is the Hebrew word which means tree or “to stand tall”. As an organization, Tamir strongly identifies with this word; standing tall, strongly rooted within the community, and most importantly, providing support to those around us.
For over 36 years, Tamir has been working to ensure people with developmental disabilities have opportunities to live with dignity and respect in the mainstream of our community. This would not be possible without the support of our generous donors.

Tamir supports people with Developmental Disabilities and people with Autism to live their best life by promoting individuality, independence, dignity, and community inclusion while embracing Jewish culture and values.

Tamir believes that our role is to advocate and promote universal respect for human rights, dignity, and the inclusion of people with Developmental Disabilities and people with Autism in the Jewish and broader community. We believe that all facilities, programs, and communications should be in compliance with accessibility standards and the principles of universal design.

Donations help to provide quality of life beyond basic needs covered through government support. Through your generous donation, individuals can receive specialized therapies, obtain assistive devices and other equipment and Tamir can ensure the homes of our participants are well furnished and equipped.
