BIO: Shelly Christensen, MA FAAIDD is a pioneer in the Jewish disability inclusion movement. She literally wrote the books on Jewish community inclusion of people with disabilities: From Longing to Belonging: A Practical Guide to Including People with Disabilities in Faith Communities and Jewish Community Guide to Inclusion of People with Disabilities. Shelly has been a consultant to synagogue movements and North American Jewish organizations inclusion initiatives. In 2009 Shelly co-founded Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) with the Jewish Special Education Consortium and continues in a leadership role.

Shelly is the founder and CEO of Inclusion Innovations, where she consults with Jewish and interfaith communities to develop strategies to foster belonging and inclusion. She is the co-creator and co-host of Everyone’s Welcome—A Fresh Conversation About Disability webinar series. Shelly is the 2021 honoree of the Reimagining Spirituality Leadership Award from the Religion and Spirituality Network of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
