“Tamir” is the Hebrew word which means tree or “to stand tall”.  As an organization, Tamir strongly identifies with this word; standing tall, strongly rooted within the community, and most importantly, providing support to those around us.

For over 36 years, Tamir has been working to ensure people with developmental disabilities have opportunities to live with dignity and respect in the mainstream of our community. This would not be possible without the support of our generous donors.

Donations help to provide quality of life beyond basic needs covered through government support.  Through your generous donation, individuals can receive specialized therapies, obtain assistive devices and other equipment and Tamir can ensure the homes of our participants are well furnished and equipped. Through your support individuals can pursue their passions and enjoy new experiences. With your help, we can continue to provide a vibrant Judaic program for individuals to learn about, practice and celebrate Jewish life. By working together, we can ensure people with developmental disabilities can enjoy the quality of life alongside their families, friends and community each and every day.
