Tamir Shabbat Guide

The Shabbat Guide was originally created to help people with developmental disabilities and their staff in celebrating the holy day of Shabbat. This valuable resource is useful and embraces all levels of observance.

The Shabbat prayers in this guide are written in Hebrew text, transliterated text (glossary of sounds is included) and English translation which allows everyone including those who do not read Hebrew to participate.

The guide has step by step instructions on how to conduct the Shabbat rituals and prayers; songs and stories have been added to enhance the celebration. In order to serve individuals with a wide range of communication needs, Picture Symbols have also been included.
