Tamir Day Services

Over the 11 years that Tamir has been providing day services, we have developed expertise in many areas such as community integration, volunteer and work options and leisure programming. Each program Tamir offers has a particular focus or goal, geared to meet the needs of the individuals supported.

Tamir's original Day Program is located on the Soloway Jewish Community Campus. The program emphasizes recreational and leisure activities, life skills development and volunteer options for the individuals who attend.

Tamir's Passages Program, helps individuals obtain employment, educational and recreational options that are best suited to their skills, interests and needs. The focus of this program is community based work/volunteer and leisure activities. The long list of community based partners committed to helping Tamir achieve this goal (to see partners list click here) can certainly attest to the program's success.

Tamir is also pleased to be part of the Ministry's Passports initiative, touted as a new concept in day services. Funds to purchase services through this program are received directly by the person receiving the services and/or their family member. With this new approach to individualized funding, each individual is offered greater choice in what programs they wish to participate in, when and for how long. Funding applications for Passports are received through the Ontario March of Dimes.
